I recently returned from a fantastic trip to Lourdes. For those of you who don't know Lourdes is a small town in France where St Bernadette saw the Virgin Mary at a grotto for 21 continuous days about 150 years ago, and drank from the healing water there. Since then people from all over the world make a pilgriamge to Lourdes, many of them sick. It was a very humbling experience to see so many disabled and sick people being taken to the grotto by some wonderful young people. A few weeks prior to my trip to Lourdes, I was in Poland, in Krakow, where I visited the work camp and death camp of austwitz and berkanhau where I experienced mans inhumanity to man. Although I was there it was still hard to comprehend how and why it all happened so going to Lourdes restored my faith in human nature While I was in Lourdes with some lovely wonderful friends we were able to experience some amzing and deep meditations which affected us all in a profound way and lifted our spiritual growth to new levels. All in all it was a trip that will remain with me for some time.
